Excellent place, great accommodation, prime location, nice food and very helpful staff. Overall a great experience. Intend to return in the future and to catch up with the friends we made during our time.

Eddie and Viul and the entire staff made our stay very enjoyable. The accommodation was clean and well positioned. They also helped us get motorbikes and showed us where to go. Thumbs up guys.

surf camp sumatra

The locally designed open air restaurant and bar are also a stone’s throw from the beach and is a place to eat, relax and share stories or simply to enjoy one of Indonesia’s famous sunsets. The camp also offers a lounge, the perfect social area & comes complete with comfy couches, hammocks, chill out areas, a separate bar snack menu, and of course cold drinks. Wifi is free for all guests as well as satellite TV for those who can´t miss the big game or the news from back home!

Attention to detail isn’t lost in the surf camps food preparation either.

Daily breakfast options usually include fried rice/noodles, eggs & toast, jaffles, omelettes, pancakes as well as juice, tea & coffee.

Lunch and dinner is focused on Indonesian dishes with fresh chicken, fish or beef curries, beef rendang & sate chicken as well as fresh veggies & rice. Western dishes include crumbed schnitzel, pasta, BBQ or fried chicken, pizza, sandwiches & oven baked veggies.

Vegetarians and specific dietary requirements can be accommodated for with prior notice to your arrival.

Included in the price:

- 3 large, healthy delicious meals are served each day
- Unlimited Tea, Coffee and Water.

Not included in the price:

- Alcoholic beverages (small Bintang 30,000 IDR, large 40,000 IDR)
- Soft drinks

- Additional snack bar menu

Drinks/snacks etc need to be paid using cash only (Indonesian Rupiah). ATM available in Krui

All our camps in South Sumatra have complimentary surf guides to help you enjoy and discover this amazing region.

Daily transport isn’t included in the price but is always available on arrival.

The surf region stretches around 50 miles and is accessed by a long twisting road that takes about 1.5 hours to reach all the surf breaks.

Motor Bikes with surfboard rack are typically around $5 / day depending on availability and length of rental.

Car hire with driver is usually around $40 / day. But of course pricing can vary from driver to driver.

Please note fuel will be additional but is relatively cheap in the region.

For those looking to explore this raw part of Indonesia won’t be disappointed. There are no tour busses to be found but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of unique and interesting things to do and see.

Ujung Bocur Bungalows can easily arrange a number of day trips such as:

Visiting the local village of Krui and exploring its local markets - FREE, only pay transportation to go there (motorbike/car etc)

ujung bocur

Guests staying at Ujung Bocur Bungalows will have direct access to the regions premier wave, Ujung Bocur. The surf camp is located in prime position so you can paddle out from the beach whenever you choose to. There's no need to go anywhere else - if you prefer not to!

As soon as you've checked in, you're free to surf! And when you're keen to explore the rest of the region, grab a motor bike (approx $5/day with rack) & Viul the resort manager will either take you himself or give you exact directions to find the areas other surf spots.

Detailed information for all the surf breaks can be found in the destination's section of the site within the Krui, South Sumatra pages.

Guests need to fly into Bandar Lampung (TKG) Radin Inten II Airport, South Sumatra

We recommend using https://www.skyscanner.net/ and flying into Jakarta, Indonesia.  From Jakarta, there are over a dozen flights each day that fly into Bandar Lampung (TKG), from airlines such as Garuda Airlines, Srwijaya, Citilink  & Lion Air. We recommend https://www.nusatrip.com

Note: Visa On Arrival: A FREE 30 day Visa On Arrival is now available for a number of countries including: Australia, USA, Brazil, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada, Peru, Costa Rica, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, England, France, Switzerland, Sweden and Germany.

Total price: IDR 1,050,000 (approx USD 80 or AUD 95) "each way"

Transfers include:

* Private a/c vehicle
* Up to 4 guests (with surfboards & bags) - possibly 5 guests, if not too many boards/bags
* Pick-up and drop off "anytime"
* Approx 6 hour journey time

Please note: We don’t advise taking the bus as it’s a longer journey, only runs at set times, is uncomfortable and generally only gets you within 45 mins of where the camps are located.

There is also a flight service from TKG to Krui - but at the moment is proving unreliable and tricky when taking surfboards.

Your transfers in detail:

Bandar Lampung Airport to the camp

Upon arrival at Bandar Lampung (TKG) Radin Inten II Airport, guests will be greeted by one of our staff members with pre-arranged transport and you'll be taken to direct to the camp. The transfer time is about 6 hours which includes a brief stop to grab some food half way through the journey. Vehicles are usually a Toyota Kijang and we keep the maximum passengers to 4 so there’s plenty of room for a comfortable journey and enough space for all your belongings.

Please note: We can collect you and drop you off any time.

Hotels in Bandar Lampung

Guests usually don’t stay in Bandar Lampung as there’s generally no need to. We can always collect you and drop you off any time to/from the airport. However we suggest staying at either of the following options if our guests prefer to overnight in the city.

Novotel - http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-6647-novotel-lampung/index.shtml
