Set in an idyllic white sand, palm fringed bay, the camp is home to arguably one of the best locations in the Mentawai Islands. Situated on the island of Nyang Nyang, the camp overlooks one of the regions funnest left hander's Beng Bengs (above) - a wave that everyone seems to love. Its one of those waves that breaks all day long, producing rhythmic zippy walls that can break long enough to fit in about 4 solid turns, sometimes more. Perfect for all levels (except beginners), you might not get the tube of your life there, but you'll have a whole lot of fun that's guaranteed.

Guests will also have access to the regions other waves (20+ surf breaks). Groups of 5 or more guests will have "ONE" FREE boat trip per day. See the "DAILY BOAT" section for details.

The camp can accommodate 18+ guests, and has a number of room options (a/c and fan) catering for just about any size group.

3 delicious and healthy meals are also included during your stay.

Guests can to travel to the camp from Padang 2 days a week with trips starting & ending in Padang every Tuesday or Saturday.

The remaining 3 bedrooms are fan cooled and are found in the main social area above the restaurant.

Please note: Luluni bungalow's generator is turned off (to cool down) every 12 hours, for 1-2 hours. At these times, there will be no power. This occurs around 4am / 4pm each day. 

The restaurant & bar

The hub of the camp is also the main social area where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner or a cold bintang after a hard days surfing.

It also provides a great place to unwind in between surfs where you can keep one eye on the surf out the front while you kick back & browse the internet.

Three healthy meals are served each day as part of the package.

Guests can expect both Western & Indonesian cuisine with a focus on fresh locally caught fish & local dishes.

Groups of 5 guests (or more) will have "ONE" FREE boat trip per day. If the group sharing the boat is 4 guests or less, then they are required to pay for the fuel. How much will depend on how far guests travel on the boat. Typically the furthest waves in and around Rifles will cost IDR 2,000,000 (about USD 135) in fuel, split between the group. Of course waves that are very close by will be a fraction of the price. So for a group of 4, typically allow around USD 20-35 per person, per session.

Guests can also rent the boat for a second session - guests just need to pay for the fuel. 

Note, only one trip each day will go as far as Kandui, A-frames, 4 Bobs, Rifles etc (Playgrounds). The 2nd trip will be to more local waves including E-bay, Hideaways, Bank Vaults, Nipussi etc.

Usually departing around 7am, guests will return before lunch time. If the guests decide to head out in the afternoon instead, that's also fine. Its a group decision. 

Each boat is equipped with surfboard racks, and seating for its guests as well as a roof to shade you from the tropical sun.

Whats more is that guests have direct access to Beng Bengs if you'd prefer to stay at the camp, as well as E-bay, Pitstops & Nipussi that are also within walking distance.

Guests need to fly into Padang Airport, West Sumatra 

We recommend using https://www.skyscanner.net/ and flying into either Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - or Jakarta, Indonesia.  From KL, there is usually one morning flight (1hr) with Air Asia  as well as a lunchtime flight to Padang.  From Jakarta, there are over a dozen flights each day that fly into Padang, from airlines such as Garuda Airlines, Srwijaya, Citilink  & Lion Air. Mentawai Fast Ferry

The safest, most reliable way of travelling between the mainland and the Mentawai islands. Full details: www.mentawaifast.com

From the hotel district, the ferry port is about a 10 minute taxi ride.

Travel days from Padang to Siberut are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We suggest Saturday to Tuesday as a standard trip. But for example, guests can also do 7 or 14 days (Tues-Tues, Sat-Sat) or 11 days (Tues-Sat).

The overall travel time is detailed below (crossing time 3-6 hrs)

You'll need to overnight on your first night in Padang (Mon, Weds or Fri) and your last night in Padang (Tues, Thurs or Sat).

Note: Thursday is the best day to arrive in the Mentawai!
