Guests will return back to base for lunch, usually by 12pm. The afternoon surf departs around 2-3pm and returns back about 30 minutes before dark. The decision on where to surf will depend on the surf guide and what the group/majority would like to do. Guests can surf Scarecrows any time of day they like too.
There are 2 boats available for our guests. The main boat is a traditional dugout canoe, powered by two 40 horsepower Yamaha engines that will transfer you safely to and from the surf at speeds of up to 20 knots. Built locally, this style of boat is designed for travel in local waters and whilst the ride can sometimes be a little wet, the length and shape of the hull helps it cut efficiently through the surf for a smoother ride than a western style speedboat.
Our drivers are experienced boatmen, growing up in the islands and around boats all their lives. As well as containing all the required safety gear, the boat has a cooler with cool drinks, a large roof and padded seats with backrests, ensuring guests are comfortable and protected from the sun during travel or when taking breaks between sessions.
Togat Nusa’s 9m aluminium speedboat is also used locally but will always be used when heading off for further missions north and south. Complete with a cabin & powered by 2 x 200 hp Suzuki engines the boat is equipped with GPS, radio and safety equipment. All missions to playgrounds or HT’s will be an additional charge of USD$ 300 / day for up to 8 guests.
