HT's Resort (Hollow Trees Resort) is situated in a beautiful bay on the southern end of Sipora in the Mentawai Islands. Built just steps from an incredible white sand beach, it also overlooks one of the best right handers in Indonesia, HT's (aka Hollow Trees or Lances Right).
A boutique style resort, it's certainly one of the nicer places to stay in the entire Mentawai chain. Its absolutely perfect to bring your "other half", even if they dont surf. Expect comfort and quality throughout the resort with all packages including private a/c rooms (2 rooms per "villa") that have their own dip pool. 3 gourmet meals per day are also included as well as use of all the facilities such as SUP’s, kayaks, yoga deck, ping pong, pool table etc. Daily speedboat rides are complimentary & provide access to the regions other regional waves including Lances Left, Cobra & Bintang's etc.
Guests can reach the resort via the Mentawai Fast Ferry that travels from Padang to Tua Pejat, Mentawai, 4 days a week making it one of the most accessible surf regions in West Sumatra.

HT's Resort can accommodate up to 16 guests within its 8 private rooms that are split between the 4 private villas.
The 4 adjacent villas are just steps from Katiet beach, with each villa comprising of two separate rooms (two guests per room) - that share one bathroom. Double or single beds are available for each villa.
Each villa is air-conditioned (A/C), includes a hot water shower as well as its own private dip pool. What’s more is that you’ll always have a clear view of HT’s, right out the front, as well as having direct access to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mentawai Islands (which is saying something!).

Breakfast is prepared at the Villa by your chef *Saka* and usually lunch and dinner is served at the resort - although all meals can be enjoyed at the villa if required.

Hollow Trees Resort offer it's guests a blend of cuisines at it's open air restaurant, with a focus on French, Thai and Indonesian flavors. Breakfast typically includes eggs & bacon, pancakes, fruit salad, homemade granola and homemade jams. Lunch & dinner, consists of a buffet style spread, where guests usually eat together on the main table. Lunch time you can eat anytime between 12 pm - 2.30 pm, with no fixed time, which gives you plenty of flexibility during the day. Dinner consists of a starter, main and dessert & is served around 7.45pm, so you can always surf until dark.
Vegetarians can be catered for given prior notice.

Guests have use of 2 speedboats during their stay
Although the clear focus for visiting surfers is to surf HT's, each guests also has the opportunity to explore and surf the regions other waves, especially when HT's isn't breaking or if the wind is onshore.
With 2 speedboats at your disposal, guests will be shuttled free of charge to the closer breaks such as Bintang's and Lances Left using the smaller boat. For day trips to the regions other waves (such as Telescopes to the North or Macaronis to the south) HT's Resort will have the larger boat available although there is an additional charge for such trips with a minimum of 4 guests.
For those happy to travel by land, complimentary scooters will give you a chance to surf Lances Left and Bintangs whenever you choose!

Guests staying at Hollow Trees Resort will have direct access to Lances Right aka Hollow Trees or HT's. A wave that has graced the cover of countless magazine covers and surf flicks, this crown jewel is the reason so many surfers make the long pilgrimage to the Mentawai Islands. Fast, hollow and picture perfect, its a wave that only dreams are made of and it's just steps away from your villa.
The obvious focus is on HT's as its right in front of the camp, but it's also worth noting that guests will have unlimited access to 2 other world class waves in Lances Left a long a consistent left as well as Bintang's, a short & hollow yet user friendly right hander.

Padang Airport (PDG)
Upon arrival at Padang’s Minangkabau International Airport, you will be greeted by a ground staff member with pre-arranged transport and you'll be taken to your hotel. From this point they can help with any pre-departure needs, like accessing money, where to eat or simply to explore the city.
Padang Hotel (extra cost)
All guests will need to spend their first night and last night in Padang. That said, hotels are very affordable and even the best hotels are around $60 for 2 guests including breakfast. We recommend staying at either of the following hotels although there are many more options on booking.com
Mercure Hotel - 5 star glory in Padang. Sunset views & swimming pool.
Oxville Hotel - located in the heart of Padang & just minutes from the ferry port.
Mentawai Fast Ferry
Guests will be collected from your hotel and taken to the ferry port the next morning. The port is very close to where the hotels are found - it's usually just a short 5-10 minute taxi ride.

The Ferry crossing time takes around 3 to 4 hours. Guests will arrive in Tua Pejat (Mentawai Port) around 10.00am, where the ground staff will be waiting to transfer all the baggage to the speedboat and take the guests to HT's Resort, arriving around noon. Crossing times are subject to weather conditions and delays can happen.
On return, guests will depart the resort around lunchtime (with the speedboat) to take the Ferry at 2pm. The arrival time in Padang will be approx. 6.15pm. A ground staff member will transfer you to your hotel as well as the airport the next morning. (Hotel and meals in Padang are not included.)

A 30% deposit is due to secure your booking.
Initial deposit is non-refundable but transferable or exchanged with a friend to take your place on that specific date (guests are responsible for finding their own replacements).
Balance is due 60 days prior to departure and 100% non-refundable.
Confirmation of your bookings and deposits will be sent via email once the deposit has been received.
Travel Insurance is mandatory for your safety. We advise all guests take out insurance upon booking in case of accident or personal problems prior to your trip.
By way of payment, all guests agree to abide by the terms & conditions.
One payment per group for initial deposit & a second payment per group for the final balance (60 days prior to arrival).

Bank transfer is the most common form of payment. Payments can be made to our Australian, US, Euro, New Zealand or Pound Sterling accounts. On confirmation of booking we will send you the details.
2) Credit Card
Credit Card payments are accepted with a 2.9% fee.
3) PayPal
PayPal payments are available and are subject to a % surcharge from PayPal. These fees are typically around 4% (TBC).
Travel Insurance is mandatory for your safety and no guest will be able to depart on any trip unless they have copies of their travel insurance documents before departure. We advise all guests take out insurance upon booking in case of accident or personal problems prior to your trip.
