And after a hard days surfing, there is a small pool to cool off from the tropical sun. For those looking to truly relax, then Amy's is pretty hard to beat.
The Main Building
Of course guests will often also congregate in the main building as its where meals are usually served. It also provides the real hub of the camp. Expect some background music, plenty of cold beers in the evening, and its a great place to share some stories of the days best sessions.
All guests have use of the following amenities;
- WiFi
- Yoga platform

Daily Transport and Surf Guide
Even if you plan to surf the cluster of waves that are directly accessible from Amy's, its always handy to jump on a scooter to check the surf quicker. Of course, you'll need transport to reach many of the regions other waves. Daily transport isn’t included in the price but is always available on arrival and its pretty affordable.
Motor Bikes with surfboard rack are typically around $5 / day depending on availability and length of rental. Amy or the resident surf guide will always be on hand to either take you to the other surf spots - or to give you detailed directions.
Car hire with driver/guide is usually around $40 / day (per car). The drivers know the surf spots and its a great option for small groups (you can fit 5 in a car when surfing). Its also a great option when you're going on longer missions to waves like Jimmy's.
For the non surfers out there or for those looking to take a day off, away from surfing, you’ll be pleased to hear that although the region of Lampung is rural and undeveloped, there are still some worthy activities & day trips to check out.
- Snorkeling is easily available out the front of Amy's on the high tide - or other nearby spots.
- Any keen fishermen will be pleased to hear that there's a number of good local fishing spots. Please bring your own gear.
- Banana Island (aka Pulau Pisang) is a real highlight during anyone's stay in Krui. Accessed by a short boat ride, it also has 2 waves either side of the island (perfect but heavy) - as well as being a great fishing & snorklling spot thanks to its crystal clear water (pictured above).
Other activities include jungle trekking inside the national park of Bukit Selatan, visiting one of the regions waterfalls or a day trip to Lake Ranau. Many of these day trips can be experienced on your own although we can easily arrange them and provide a guide for you if need be.
Trip Information
Guests staying at Amy's will have direct access to the half a dozen or so waves in the town of Krui. All accessible by either walking or scooter. The furthest town wave is only about 5 minutes by motorbike.
Although the waves are typically a little smaller than the more exposed reefs in the area, guests can expect super fun surf in the head high region between April to September. March and October can have really fun waves too. In fact, there are windows of excellent surf all year, although north west trades can blow for weeks at a time in between the good days. Even when the north west blows, Jenny's right will be bang offshore, guaranteeing great waves year round.
Detailed information for all the surf breaks can be found in the destination's section of the site within the Krui, South Sumatra pages.
