The Indo Satu (Indo One) is a modern 80 foot surf charter boat that can cater for up to 9 guests (10 on request). Launched only in 2015, she remains one of the newest vessels to grace the Sumatran waters and has been built specifically for surf charters in West Sumatra.
Perfect for medium sized groups, she can cruise comfortably at 8-9 knots. The boat has the vibe of a traditional phinisi timber boat & comes complete with the latest navigation gear, electronics, and safety features you'd expect from a new build. To further enhance the traditional phinisi feel, she's been equipped with a sprite style rig for the main sail and a self furling head sail up front.
Guests also have full use of the Si Lion speedboat, a 24 foot aluminium tender powered by a 200 hp Suzuki outboard. The high speed tender is perfect for chasing waves up and down the islands while the Indo Satu is anchored up at a break.
The experienced crew are the same guys behind the massively successful D'bora surf charter with a combined 40 years of experience in the archipelago. Most trips are focused on the waves found in the Mentawai and Telo islands as well as a handful of trips each year that head further north through Nias, the Hinakos and as far north as the Banyak Islands.

The top deck is another space for hanging and comes complete with a sunshade when the Indo Satu is anchored up at a break. Its also a great spot to enjoy a few sunset beers. At the stern there's also an additional area to relax or cast a line from.
The air conditioned interior saloon area provides plenty of room to enjoy a movie, to escape from the tropical sun or take shelter from a passing storm. Its also a good spot to relax in during the evening. It's here you’ll find the well-stocked beer and drinks fridge as well as a breakfast bar where water/coffee/tea and snacks are available all day and night.
Below, in the vessels bow, you will find the air conditioned sleeping quarters with 8 single beds. There is also a separate double VIP cabin that can comfortably sleep an extra 1-2 guests (total guests: 9 singles or 8 singles and a couple).

We toured on the Indo Satu in July/Aug 17 and couldn't fault the service. Nick the guide was awesome and the crew were a well oiled machine. Nothing was a problem and Nick's knowledge of the area and of the language and culture added another dimension. The boat was very comfortable and the best looking boat too. Highly recommended for a magical trip to the Mentawai's
Marcus Cooper
Went with Indo Satu in early july 2017. 11 days of perfect waves with 8 mates. The boat is better than imaginable. Crew, food, management, knowledge of waves, region etc. Also the captain pulled into the prime spot for pic's at every wave. The tender boat silion ripped us into waves wherever we needed or fish, whatever our need. Young Jake T helped Tom guide us and he didn't only put us in the right spots but also kept the rest of our group psychiced up. We did pretty well for crowds as the guide tried his best to watch other boats and talk with them where possible. A few times we surfed a grade waves by ourselves. Thanks Tom Jake and the Satu crew. We'll be saving lunch money for the next trip

Mid October trip. Excellent boat. Everything first class. Crew are a well oiled machine and are looking after your every need. The guides on Indo Satu never tried to save the fuel. With a smallish swell mid-trip we left the crowds and still got great, uncrowded waves to ourselves. I’ve been on many boat trips and was so impressed I booked on with a few more mates 1week after getting home.
