Surf Report: May 15-31
Weather: Plenty of clear sunny days but becoming a bit hazy as we move toward the dry season; still some rain in the afternoons. Light winds, offshore in the morning with a couple of days blowing onshore in the afternoons.
Swell: Consistent medium size swell hitting all the Krui breaks with some good south-southwest swell turning on the Krui left and right. The Peak consistently 3-6 foot with lots of barrels. And always the odd set livening things up. Late May had a few days of bigger waves for all the breaks, the left had epic conditions for several days with some longer wave periods and more power. Overall May had consistent medium size waves.
Offshore days: Light offshore winds everyday in the morning. Only a few days of light onshore winds in the afternoon. Mostly offshore from mid-day until evening glass off.
Best sessions: The best sessions were at the left and The Peak with just a few people out. The right turned on for a few days as well, a bit busier at the town waves but still lots of waves for everyone. Leftovers had several days of intense overhead drainers. Some really sick barrels and perfect lines. The left and right have had several days of great medium size waves; lots of open faces and the occasional barrel to enjoy.
Crowd: Overall late May was pretty good for the Krui area, lots of waves, with largely uncrowded line-ups.

Surf Report: May 1-14
Weather: Plenty of clear sunny days but becoming a bit hazy as we move toward the dry season; still some rain in the afternoons. Light winds, offshore in the morning with a couple of days onshore in the afternoons. Sunsets less dramatic as the dry season haze begins, but still a few awesome cloud formations on the horizon.
Swell: Consistent medium size swell hitting all the krui breaks with some good south-southwest swell turning on the Krui Left and Krui Right. The Peak consistently 2-3 foot with lots of barrels. And always the odd set livening things up. A few days of bigger waves for all the local breaks, with the left producing epic surf for a couple of days with some longer wave periods and more power. Mid May had a big drop in swell for a few days but looking towards next week things look pretty lively with 8-10 foot swell predicted.
Offshore days: Light offshore winds everyday in the morning. Only a few days of light onshore winds in the afternoon.
Best sessions: The best sessions were at Krui Left and the Peak with just a few people out. Krui Right turned on for a few days as well, a bit busier at the town waves but still lots of waves for everyone. Leftovers had several days of intense overhead drainers. Some really sick barrels and perfect lines. Krui Left and Right have had several days of great medium size waves; lots of open faces and the occasional barrel to enjoy. Slingshots right out front has been firing now and then, with a steep bowl and then a super nice end section to slam a cutback. Lots of fun!
Crowd: Overall the first half of May was pretty mellow, lots of waves with light crowds.

After thoughts: May has kept delivering and so far its been a great start to the season. Crowds remain totally manageable and the weather has been great. The forecast looks very promising for the remainder of the month (see below).
