May 2018
Weather: Sunny skies the whole month with light and variable winds. It has actually been quite dry for the Mentawais the last couple of weeks without much rain and little in the forecast.
Swell: The Mentawai is back to her usual self. We have been getting back-to-back-to-back swells. Nothing huge, but plenty of fun sized conditions and a couple of bigger days too.
Off shore days: The mornings have produced east winds which are offshore on the lefts. The afternoons have generally switched from the west - meaning offshore winds on the right handers.
Best sessions: There has been plenty, with Lances left and HT's lighting up with some real consistency. However the highlight session was at a semi-secret point during one afternoon session with perfect 3-4 feet reeling rights with just us out, while HTs had 25 guys on it.
Crowd: We are definitely starting to see an increase in the charter boats. Crowds are increasing, however there has been plenty of windows to find waves all to ourselves. The guests have been super stoked!

Hollow Trees has pumped in May although there have been a few crowded line-ups from time to time
Not too shabby!
After thoughts: May has produced consistent surf, day in, day out, with almost guaranteed perfect daily waves, without a glitch. There have been a few more boats passing through but thats to be expected this time of year. Everyones still been getting plenty of amazing waves. Forecast looks great for the next week or so (forecast below):
