Banyaks

Surf Report: April 16-27

Weather
: Partly sunny weather with clear skies by day, and cool nights. Some days are a bit stormy, but equally beautiful due to the big swell.

Swell: The first big swell hit the Banyak Islands recently and put us in a position to make the decison of where will be our best surfing spot for our new customers. We wanted to position our boat to where we can accommodate all levels of surfing, within a small radius. The captain started with the crazy hollow left’s! Everything was on, like 20 barrels in a session. Then the swell dropped a little bit so we enjoyed some good turtle left to small treasure right which was playful. Then the swell grew a little bit more so we surfed treasure. Not the best one cause of the big period and massive swell but the inside mini’s was pumping. The next four days were enjoyed at the bay of plenty. Three waves for the boys and only two boat trips. The spots were almost empty with constant surf from morning to sunset. Conditions were pretty good all the time. Small choppy in mid-day then super glassy at the end of the day.

Winds: The wind had been swiching arround due to the storm and the swell. But prettty much west wind.

Sessions: Captain Pierre provided 8 differents surf spots to customers. Really good conditions so lots of opportunities. Biggest session at bay of plenty and a few secret waves. Treasure's has been good one day only due to heavy growing swell.

Crowd: Four boats have been cruising around but everyone trying to escape from each other as usual. Not a single session with any drama, everyone's beens stoked.

Surf Report: April 02-13

Weather: Sunny every day for the whole period.

Swell: Predominantly small surf, much like the previous trip. However, still plenty of fun waves for the group.

Winds: Light off shore winds every day. Most spots that had swell were clean as the winds remained very light for the duration of the trip.

Sessions: Captain Pierre always knows the best surf spots in the Banyaks. The guests surfed every day. Even some truly memorable sessions with the small swell. Best sessions at Pulau Babi, the Bay of Plenty (Gunters) and Turtles.

Crowd: Zero crowds in the Banyaks in April. The guests surfed alone the whole trip.

There was even a few bigger sets snealking through during the peak of the swell.

Despite the relatively small swell, the guests were stoked with the conditions and the fact they surfed with no other surfers for the whole trip was a huge bonus

After thoughts: Two trips in April with the first half producing some fun but small conditions. The 2nd trip really pumped with world class conditions on offer most days. May is already producing some epic surf with more forecasted. Check back soon for our next report.
