A brand new surf camp built in traditional “Uma” style of the Mentawais but with a
twist of 1st world comfort. Catering for up to 8 guests, the camp is an extremely comfortable and affordable option for surfers of all abilities.

The camp has ample space. A dining room and separate TV room (with Satellite TV) offers guests indoors relaxation. A large decking area has been provided as well as a porch area to hang hammocks or simply to chill out. There’s also an outside shower area & board rack as well as an additonal tower to relax on.

4 twin share bedrooms are available as individual or block bookings. 3 of these have “ensuite”. Each room is airy with extremely high ceilings, ventilated walls and comes complete with a mosquito net & fans. Each ensuite bathrooms has a toilet, basin, tap and shower.

All bookings are provided with 3 daily meals that are flexible depending on guests preferred times. Breakfast will be a choice of cereals, oatmeal, omelettes, banana fritters, fruit or pancakes. Lunch & dinner will consist largely of fresh fish or chicken, both served with rice, pasta, noodles & vegetables. Our experienced local chef has many traditional recipes as well as more modern flavours for our guests to experience. Please inform us prior to travel if they have any dietary requirements.

Power: Our pricing is based on 9 hours generator running time per 24 hours. This means power is on at all time when guests are at the camp - except at night (after lights out).

Internet & Phone

There is no phone signal in the area but we have internet facilities. Use of the wifi internet is available when the power is on.

Shop: Guests can buy some snacks and drinks / beer at the camp - although generally it's recommended to either bring all snacks with you (from Padang). Alternatively, let us know what you'd like an we'll make sure we have it in stock.

Surfboard accessories bring everything you can with you, athough there is a surf shop in Padang that you can buy accessories from..

Activities The area is truly stunning and just taking in the scenery is something to cherish. Guests often will just enjoy the local landscapes and visit the neighbouring village of Pei Pei is also a must. The people are warm and welcoming. The local kids will often have a game of football on Sunday's - and our guests are welcome to join in. Snorkelling is also popular and any keen fisherman should bring his equipment as well. The most popular activity (other than surfing) is the guided visits to the Indiginous tribes of the Mentawais that can take anything from 1 to 5 days. We also have board games/cards, guitars as well as Internet, Satellite TV and Hammocks to chill in.

Medical Facilities Minor injuries (standard reef cuts) should be dealt with by bringing your own medical kit. We do have some supplies but they shouldn't be relied on. More serious injuries will either be dealt with on one of the neighbouring islands who have a western doctor and in a worst case scenario, a guest might have to be taken back to Padang by fast boat. But this hasn't happend so far! But please make sure you have adequate medical insurance as the camp cant be held responsible for any injuries sustained when surfing and subsequent costs.

Depart (Padang) each Thursday (7pm)
Returning (Padang) each Saturday (arrive 7am).

These dates are fixed.

Non surfers can join the surf boat for snorkelling or fishing but are not allowed to take boards with them due to space requirements.

Any package with 7/8 surfers will have the use of two speedboats
